When we built our house, we had a beautiful, old oak tree in the front yard.
She was even complete with a tire swing.
But, she got sick.
And we finally had to have her removed.
This was only after multiple 'tree doctor' visits.
(Who knew saving a tree could be so expensive??!)
It was a sad day, back in 2009.
I titled the blog post 'Goodbye Old Friend'.
Notice how green the trees are in the distance and how bare she is.
Yep, it was time to put her out of her misery ...
Anyway, we've had plans for the past 2 years to replant.
And we finally have!
Hooray!
Barry helped Bowdie pick out the right trees ...
we now have 2 maples (supposedly fast-growing) and 1 dogwood.
I can just picture a bench and some annuals, can't you?
And maybe, just maybe, a tire swing ...
(by the time our grandkids are born!)
