Soccer Finale

We all really enjoyed soccer season.
Especially Jacob.

It was so fun to watch him learn and become better.
His foot/eye coordination improved dramatically!

And he really excelled as goalie.
He wasn't one bit afraid to tackle that soccer ball when it came near the net!

Our last match was against one of Jacob's classmates,
which was super fun.
And his sweet teacher and her daughter even came out to show support.

Yep - those are sliding shorts under his uni.
I don't have a clue if that's what real soccer players do,
but I figured if its good enough for baseball, it's good enough for soccer!

Warming up ...

Do you see him?
He's telling Coach Kevin he wants to be goalie first.
I think he's actually pleading to be goalie first.

Throwing it in ...

Kicking it in ...

Oh dear - his friend on the other team
accidentally made cleat-to-knee contact ...

His sweet teacher, Ms. Pienaar,
and her daughter Addison.

Two of his classmates ...
Kaleb & Peter.
Kaleb was on the team he played.

Afterward, we grabbed a picnic table by the playground at Rabbit Hill
and had a little trophy ceremony.

His first trophy!
And a cute team picture to boot ...

Enjoying 'brunchy' snacks,
since the game was at 9 a.m.!

Posing with 2 of his teammates -
Brody & Chuma.

On to the next season ...
or sport!
(he says he's playing fall baseball!)

Jacob's Rookie Soccer Season Begins ...

And so it begins ...
Jacob has reached the official Team Jenkins age of sports playin'.

He chose soccer.
We don't really know why, but he's been determined for over a year now to play.

Can I just say that we are total rookies at this one?
NO IDEA about the rules.

But I will say, he's the cutest thing out there in his uniform!

Looking forward to a GREAT season!

It was freezing opening day.
Don't hate the camo long underwear!  :)

Bo is helping our friend Kevin coach ...

Yeah - we need to work on the throwing-the-ball-in skills ...
did I already mention that we're rookies?!

Yay!  He got a little time as goalie!

He might have been a bit bored here, ya think?!

Wow - that looks like a P90X move there, Jake!

These 2 have been buds since before they were born.
Their birthdays are only 5 days apart!

Nana weathered the cold -
can you tell its a bit windy?!

And Grandmama & Papa -
always faithful to come and cheer!

So with this sport,
we've now covered most of the major ones ...
football, basketball, baseball and now soccer!

GO TEAM JENKINS!
