Soccer Finale

We all really enjoyed soccer season.
Especially Jacob.

It was so fun to watch him learn and become better.
His foot/eye coordination improved dramatically!

And he really excelled as goalie.
He wasn't one bit afraid to tackle that soccer ball when it came near the net!

Our last match was against one of Jacob's classmates,
which was super fun.
And his sweet teacher and her daughter even came out to show support.

Yep - those are sliding shorts under his uni.
I don't have a clue if that's what real soccer players do,
but I figured if its good enough for baseball, it's good enough for soccer!

Warming up ...

Do you see him?
He's telling Coach Kevin he wants to be goalie first.
I think he's actually pleading to be goalie first.

Throwing it in ...

Kicking it in ...

Oh dear - his friend on the other team
accidentally made cleat-to-knee contact ...

His sweet teacher, Ms. Pienaar,
and her daughter Addison.

Two of his classmates ...
Kaleb & Peter.
Kaleb was on the team he played.

Afterward, we grabbed a picnic table by the playground at Rabbit Hill
and had a little trophy ceremony.

His first trophy!
And a cute team picture to boot ...

Enjoying 'brunchy' snacks,
since the game was at 9 a.m.!

Posing with 2 of his teammates -
Brody & Chuma.

On to the next season ...
or sport!
(he says he's playing fall baseball!)
