God Bless the USA!!

I'm on a roll here with catching up, but I do have good excuses - the 4th fell on Wednesday and we left for our 2 weeks at the beach on Saturday. Needless to say, there was NO time for blogging before we left! Our tradition for the 4th has become running the Peachtree. Our friends, Mac & Brenda, live across from Chastain Park and graciously have allowed us to stay at their home the night before. They throw what has been named "Pasta Palooza" on the eve of the race and then we all pile in the next morning to run. Mac is more of a picture fanatic than me, so he's taken some great ones here. Enjoy!
This is the Pasta Palooza group in Mac & Brenda's basement. Notice all the framed P'tree shirts behind us. He's been running the race, like, FOREVER!!!! We are convinced he would bleed red, white and blue! He makes all of us that don't wear one put on a P'tree shirt for the picture. Not everyone spends the night - there was only 7 of us this year -
Here are me and Bo before the race - bright eyed and bushy tailed - NOT!! At least not me! Nothing like getting up at 6 a.m. on a holiday - but it's definitely worth it!

Here's the crew after the race. I have my arm around Brenda (I'm in hot pink) and Mac is the one laying on the ground. He runs with the flag being held in the back - the whole race EVERY year! Needless to say he's been in the paper a time or two. The one in orange is our good friend (and Brenda's twin sister) Deb. Her husband, Steve (back row second from the right) is our builder for our new house. He and Bowdie are like 6th cousins or something - for real! So before he was our builder, he was a softball buddy of Bowdie's, a fellow church member at Hebron, and all around great friend. Anywho - enough babbling for today . . .
