I wish I had the picture handy so I could scan and post it, but one of Bowdie's many memories growing up was of sitting on the counter at his Grandmama's and watching her make her famous cakes, then getting to lick the beaters. Shortly after we were married, his grandmother's health declined and had to go into a full care nursing home and I was the privileged one that was given her mixer - a yellow-gold Sunbeam machine that I loved! Sadly, the mixer took it's last 'spin' over the holidays . . . the motor officially whacked out, but not before I took some fun shots of the boys licking the very same beaters that Bowdie did as a child. Sweet memories!!!
