Friday night we did our usual birthday run to Chuck E. Cheese. Jacob was convinced that he was going to go in 3 but come out as 4! I guess he kind of did! The boys love all the games and the pizza's not too bad either! It was a fun night and a fun way to celebrate.
Saturday ...what a fun day! This year, in lieu of a big party, we decided to do Ringling Brothers with the boys. Blaine & Jacob could invite 1 friend each to join them. Jacob brought his buddy, Brody Brookshire and Blaine brought his buddy, Chandler Cavoretto. Aunt Beck flew in from TX to celebrate with us, so we had a car full heading to Atlanta for the circus. This was the first time the boys had been, as well as Brody and Chandler too! Beck was thrilled ... she LOVES the circus and was excited to go along. It was a GREAT show - we were able to go down on the floor for about 30 minutes before it started. We were amazed by how much of a 'show' it is ... kinda like Broadway with animals! After the circus, we headed back home with a stop at Burger King for lunch. Once home, we set up the table for the cake and ice cream. The boys played outside, like usual, until the guests arrived. Again, the party was mostly the circus, but we did invite a few other friends over for cake and ice cream. The boys got some really fun gifts and enjoyed the time to just play with friends. And the adults, of course, enjoyed the fellowship as well! My mom made the cakes as usual, with a new tradition. She now takes requests from the kids as to what kind they want ... Blaine chose a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and Jacob chose a cookie cake. They loved them and so did the crowd ... all were eaten except a small piece of the cookie cake! It was a special day and hopefully made a special memory for the boys!
