One of the highlights of our falls these days
is going to Wake Forest.
We stay with our dear friends, the Robinsons ...
the kids all play,
the adults get some good conversation,
we see our other sweet friends while there,
and we thoroughly enjoy the change of pace.
This year, the weekend fell again on my birthday.
We celebrated with a surprise, adults-only, date to the Angus Barn.
It was a beef eaters heaven - absolutely delish!
It was a wonderful trip ...
a true blessing to us!
My surprise birthday cookie!
Yumm-o!
All the kiddos - they didn't have one bit of fun.
Not. One. Bit.
Ha!
Popping popcorn with the $2 find Cat got when we garage sale shopped
Saturday morning. So fun!
Birthday dinner at The Angus Barn!
(I got completely into it ... can you tell??!)
Fun night out with our dear, dear friends!
Started off with a tour of the kitchen & winery ...
loved seeing behind the scenes!
Look what Bo found in the wine celler?!
Partitions ... imagine that!
Cat & I were so tempted to mess with the table settings in the private room
down in the wine cellar.
But, alas, we refrained.
And look who we ran in to!!
Larry & Steph were there with their whole family to celebrate
their youngest's, Abby, birthday as well!
(She's the cutest thing - sorry no pic!)
Amen, dig in!
G's prime rib.
I mean, is that a piece of meat or what?!
Love these guys ... BIG.
Love this man ... BIGGER.
Decorating our very own birthday cakes!
(Cat's bday was just a week or so before!)
Happy birthday to us!
OTHER THINGS WE DID OVER THE WEEKEND:
Enjoyed lunch outside at Steph & Larry's new home.
Gorgeous.
Lots of wide open space.
And this fun golf cart that the landlord lends them.
Awesome!
Steph's sister, Anna Kate & Jacob took a spin.
Love these girls so much.
They have absolutely no idea how much they encourage me,
challenge me, and urge me on.
It's a beautiful thing.
Truly.
We took an afternoon walk (well, some rode) to the campus bookstore.
So cool that it's so close.
Love the little town of Wake Forest.
So quaint!
We got to see Aiden play in a soccer game.
He & the other 2 Robinson kiddos go to a charter school in Wake Forest.
Cat now teaches there as well.
Cool story how God worked all that out!
As part of the Board of Visitors for SEBTS,
Bo had several meetings he attended,
as well as the family picnic on Monday night.
Bo also got to be interviewed on why we support SEBTS.
You can see the video here.
Love that man - they cut him off just before he got choked up!
The sweet Reed boys ...
And Miss Kate Reed.
Hate that I didn't get a pic of us with Josh & Jacelyn.
How in the world did that happen??!!
Must do better.
Treasuring the memories made ...
looking forward to the days to come!
