Jacob was asked this year, by the FOCUS teacher,
to join an after-school club called Odyssey of the Mind.
I had heard of OM from back in my teaching days,
but didn't really know much about it.
Basically, the kids are grouped by grade
and given a problem to solve creatively.
They have adult sponsors,
but all work must be done by the kids.
This years theme/question was 'What makes the waves?'
Jacob and his group of 2nd graders came up with a short play
(had to be 8 minutes or less)
complete with a student made backdrop and costumes.
They titled it 'Top Secret Discovery.'
They then competed with other schools in our surrounding area
at a competition.
They did very well and were so cute!
He absolutely loved it.
It really was right up his alley -
he's so creative and thinks outside the box so many times.
Loved seeing him do his thing and enjoying it!!
