One of our plans for 2007 was to get to the Zoo. All 3 of the boys are at great ages to enjoy it and they all love animals. So we decided to go on Good Friday, April 6. Funny thing - it's absolutely freezing!! We are setting record lows for this time of year - we were afraid that it would be miserable, but we had a blast! We just wrapped up and layered up so that we wouldn't get cold! Here we are waiting to ride the train - it was WAY past naptime here, so we're all just about over it!
This is how Jacob spent most of the day. The one time we did let him down to walk, we thought we lost him and my mind ran back all the crime dramas I've ever seen on TV - needless to say, it was NOT good for my cardiovascular health. But we found him eating his YoGos next to the stroller, not having a care in the world! He loved the animals, especially getting to see the Clydesdales.
Here are the boys all looking at the animals. I think this may have been the kangaroos.
Jarrett & Blaine posing on the Komodo Dragon statue - Jarrett was amazed by how big the actual animal was. I must say, he DID look a little scary!
Here's how Blaine spent the first hour (until he ran out of pictures!). He's been wanting his own camera for a long time, so we gave he and Jarrett both a disposable camera in their Easter baskets to take to the Zoo. Can't wait to see what kind of pics they took - ha!
Here's Bo and Blaine at the end of the day. We all were tired as we left the Zoo around 3:30. It was such a fun day, but all the walking wore everyone out. I needed a double stroller for the boys to ride in!
This sums it up - after the Zoo, we went to see the Masterson's house which was close by and had a short visit, then headed home. It took about 2.5 seconds for all 3 to fall asleep. I think I love these pictures the most - it was a GREAT day full of fun, memories, and family time. They'll be talking about it for many weeks to come!
