Last Saturday we ran in our second race. This was the Silver Comet in Cobb County. The route for the race is on the Silver Comet - a 'rails to trails' track. It was formerly a train track and they've converted it for running or biking. We had heard that it was a beautiful, FLAT (my favorite) run so we decided to give it a try. Our good friends, Matt & Alisa Pognant and Kevin & Sandi Brookshire, ran it too. It was a perfect day to run and it was a beautiful trail. We all finished and most reached their goals timewise.
4:55 a.m. came EARLY - especially on a Saturday!
I'm all thumbs up - too tired to think!
Matt & Alisa as we picked them up at 5:30 -
Kev & Sandi as we picked them up next . . .
Bowdie, Matt & Alisa as they try to stay warm while getting their numbers . . . it was COLD and WINDY!
Here's the crew -
Bowdie & I after the race - we were sweaty and very chilled by this point!
Non official finish times:
Matt 1:40ish
Alisa 1:53ish
Kevin 1:54ish
Sandi 2:05ish
Bo 2:16ish
An 2:40ish (slow, but I ran, I mean jogged, it all!!)
