July 4th was a GREAT day (and weekend)! We did our traditional thing ... ran the Peachtree Road Race with 60,000 of our closest friends ... haha! It all started the night before with the Pasta Palooza at Mac & Brenda MacClelland's once again. We enjoyed our first bit of pasta in over a month because of the P90x workout program we're on. It was delicious! For the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey would say, see the pictures below ...
Mac & Brenda's house in Atlanta ... love the flag there EVERY year! Mac also did a little chalk drawing on the driveway ... impressive!

Love this cake ... it says it all!
Me & Bo before the race ... this was pre-7:00 a.m.!!

And here we are after the race ... it was a good run for both of us ... I finished in 70 minutes and Bo did it in 62. He could have busted 60, but he stayed with me until mile 3 or 4, which slowed him down!

Mac & Brenda, our hosts and Peachtree experts ... love their spirit!! And yes, he ran with that flag and hat the entire race!

Smith & Kim Mitchell ... so sweet and so hysterical ...

And Steve & Debra Harrison ... remember, he was our builder for our house, but they are also sweet friends and actually distant relatives! How's that??!!

The group doing a crazy shot, requested by Mac himself!
Me and Bo back at the MacClellands ...

The crew sportin' our new shirts ...
After the race, we skipped the usual Varsity trip to get home and do our P90x workout for the day ... hey, if we're going to do it, then we're going to DO IT! Then we headed up to the Strickland's place on Lanier to hang with my sister, BIL and all his family. So glad the water is back up! The picture above is Jarrett & Daniel, Rob's brother's son ...
Solving all the problems of the world ... in the shade of the dock!
And here's my man skiing ... he ran 6.2, worked out back and biceps, and then slalomed for the first time in AT LEAST 6 or so years ... impressive!
My BIL Rob was the ski boat captain ...
And my nephew Micah learned to ski just before the sun dropped too low to be out on the water anymore ... so proud of him!
The day ended with fireworks. It was perfect. We spent the night at my sister's and enjoyed the time with them ... great weekend!!!!
