Living at the The Cleft,
you just never know what you might see.
We've had everything from the kids playing with baby squirrels,
to building a completely kid-made fort,
to having roller derby on skateboards down the drive.
But what happened last week takes the cake.
The kids were all outside playing.
I happened to look out the window towards the lake and did a double take.
Sorry for the bad picture ... had to crop it way in for effect!
That would be 5 year old Ty ... floating out on the lake ...
ON THE SANDBOX LID!
Please don't think badly of me ...
Ty does swim.
He was not panicked,
but sweetly paddling with his little hands ...
So, of course, my first reaction was to die laughing!
Second reaction: go tell Stacey so she could die laughing too!
Second-and-a-half reaction: grab my camera ...
this was definitely blog worthy!! :)
Third reaction: Okay older boys, help him get back to shore!
(which they were doing ... they were trying to reach him, throw him a
paddle, etc.)
Fourth reaction (as Ty floated further and further from shore):
Older boys, get in the canoe and rescue that boy!
Never a dull moment ... NEVER!
that's it--i would have died right there...flat out had a heart-attack. MORTIFIED!
ReplyDeleteyall are so much more laid back than this neurotic mama!
