Mr. Treasurer

Jarrett's in 5th grade.
WHAT??!!!!!
(slight freak out at how fast time has gone ...)

Anyway, 5th graders get to run for student government office.
We encouraged him to give it a try.

At first, he wanted to try secretary,
but when I told him it involved taking notes,
he turned up his nose.

I told him I thought treasurer would be more his thing.
He's great in math, loves money, and is responsible.
Good fit.

He had to write a speech,
be videotaped reading it so the whole school could see it,
make a poster,
and campaign each day leading up to the vote.

He had several buddies running against him.
But when it came down to the vote,
he won!

Mulberry does a very special induction service.
All the officers are put in place,
as well as the classroom representatives for 3, 4, & 5th grades.

Our principal, Mrs. Stranahan,
giving Jarrett his pin.

So glad Grandmama and Papa could come.
Nana and O were out of the country on a mission trip.

Proud of Jarrett for stepping up in this leadership position.
Looking for great things this year!
