Isn't that just the happiest name for a place to stay?!
And it was a happy little cottage!
As soon as we found out what week we'd be going to Cooperstown,
we searched and found a great little house to stay in.
It seems like the whole town revolves around tourism,
and I guess it really does because of the Hall of Fame.
There was a website completely devoted to house rentals in the area.
This definitely made it much easier for us!
We chose this little cottage because of the lake access.
Right across the street was beautiful Lake Oneonta.
The water was so gorgeous and crystal clear …
we found out it was nicknamed 'Glimmerglass Lake'!
This was our view - breathtaking!
We were less than 10 minutes on the opposite side of town from Dreams Park.
So it took about 15 minutes to get from the house to the park.
It was a gorgeous drive.
This picture does the drive NO justice. Just trust me - gorgeous!
The cottage itself reminded me of Little House on the Prairie -
the boys and I stayed up in the loft area … complete with a ladder and everything!
I was able to catch up on a little reading each night.
Look at the rustic breadboard ceiling!
Loved it - except when I accidentally bumped my head on it … often.
This is the view right inside the main door.
The den area and our loft ladder are straight ahead.
To the right are the 2 bedrooms and a bath.
There was a bath upstairs as well.
To the left is the door to my favorite part of the cottage -
a wonderful screened in porch that looked straight across to the lake!
There's my side of the loft. So fun!
In the garage area was the washer and dryer and another refrigerator.
And these huge trashcans … little did I know how big recycling is in New York!
So big, in fact, that our owner said we'd forfeit our deposit if we didn't recycle properly!
At least she was hyper organized and labeled each can carefully.
But man! It was a bit stressful throwing away trash for sure!!
Thankful for such a great place to stay for such a fun week!
