Charlie being the one from the Chocolate Factory! Last week we enjoyed an evening of candy making. That has to be one of my favorite things about the Christmas season ... baking! Something about it just automatically puts me in the mood to stay in the kitchen. I like to do some 'easier' things so that the boys can help out, so we usually end up dipping pretzels in chocolate and also making cookies or something similar. This year was no different. We also threw in the making of shrinky-dink ornaments. An oldie, but such a goodie! Fun family times ...
Jarrett ... he did a GREAT job keeping the sprinkles in the bowl and on the pretzel ...
Blaine-o didn't do too shabby either ...
However, the 4 year-old munchkin ...
YIKES!!!!!!!!!! I almost went into convulsions at the thoughts of all those little things on the floor, but I tried my hardest to keep it in perspective! Thank goodness for the 'crumb sucker' in the kitchen - LOVE my central vac!!
And, of course, Bowdie got involved ... where there's chocolate, there's Bowdie! He had his own special way of dipping the pretzels ...
That would be an orange peeler that he's using for his dipping utensil ... it's a Jenkins thing to see how creative one can be with tools!
Then he proceeded to make p'nut butter crackers to dip ... then pulled out oreos to dip ... he was a dipping fanatic!
Jarrett working on his shrinky dink ornament ...
Blaine was very focused on his ...
And Jacob drawing his candy cane ... it totally helped that it's shaped just like the first letter in his name!!!
Looks like fun!! Pretzels and chocolate are the best! Merry Christmas, Jenkins family!
