We were all set for camping trip #2.
I'd created my own camping checklist on excel.
Bowdie had purchased a few items we felt were necessary.
We all were excited ...
Then the weather happened.
I love Georgia ... you never quite know what to expect as far as weather.
It may be November, but you could be running around in shorts and a tank top.
Or you could be bundled up with everything, including long johns, on.
The latter happened.
Temps at night were supposed to dip into the mid-20s.
In Bowdie's words, 'I don't think we can overcome these temps
with our little space heater in the tent.'
Definitely would've been a losing battle. On our end for sure.
In the meantime, his parents had called and were concerned for us.
We were purposefully camping at Vogel to be near their RV park.
When they saw the weather predictions, they generously offered
to rent us a cabin for the weekend.
And we gladly accepted.
So that's how we went from camping to 'cabin'-ing ...
so glad for the unexpected change.
Having a bed, a kitchen, indoor plumbing, and heat were really, really nice.
Really.
Our 'little cabin in the woods' ...
The boys are hooked on Uno ... and Blaine is very hard to beat!
Mancala ... love this game of strategy!
Pancakes ... of course, pancakes!
Love my boys!
Good rest ...
Jacob reading to Grandmama ...
Blaine being tickled by Papa ... his favorite thing!
This right here is proof why family time away is a must ...
Grandmama playing Crazy 8's with Blaine ...
J-man getting some love from Papa ...
Hot chocolate by the fire ...
loved that fireplace ... so cozy!
Proof positive we made the right choice ...
all that frost would've been on our sleeping bags, with us in them.
BRRRrrrrrr ....
Grandmama & Papa's RV ... the lot we are parked in is theirs as well ...
great set-up ... its like a little neighborhood of mostly retired
couples. They all have the best time together!
Blaine on his infamous rip-stick ...
a little football ...
We went to Brasstown Bald ...
Jarrett had just studied about it being the highest point in Georgia ...
Proof again we made the right decision to nix the tent ...

I took a bunch. I only put a few on here.
You're welcome. :)
